Going to Stuttgart as a Double Degree student? What should you know?
FAQs

1. 3 ECTS missing

The first and most important issue concerns the 3 ECTS gap. At UNIBG, the total required credits are 63 ECTS, while in Stuttgart you complete 60 ECTS. The missing 3 ECTS correspond to: Professional Digital Skills

  • It is a 3-ECTS course in Bergamo that can be followed remotely during the summer period.

2. Study plan

The academic structure in Stuttgart is very different from Italy in terms of organization and concentration.

For the AY 25-26 you will take 5 courses which are:

  • Financial Markets and Risk Management (6)
  • Value Based Management (6)
  • Behavioral Operations Management (6)
  • International Purchasing and Supply Management (6)
  • Seminar in Operations Management (the only one entirely in English) (6)

Second semester

  • Strategic Coordination Instruments and Concepts for International Firms (6)
  • Master Thesis (24)

As soon as you get accepted, contact

and ask to receive the annex with the most updated study plan.

3. Grading system

Germany uses a reversed grading scale:

  • 1.0 = highest grade (excellent)
  • 4.0 = minimum passing grade
  • 5.0 = fail

4. Course structure

Each subject is structured with: a Vorlesung (lecture) and Tutorials (exercise session / application session). Both components are important and complementary and tutorials are not optional since those lessons are not recorded.

5. Only one exam attempt per session

There is only one exam date per course per semester and there are no multiple “appelli” like in Italy.

6. Administrative side

From a bureaucratic perspective, the German system is structured and formal. However, the German program coordinator is extremely kind, supportive, and helpful. She will clearly explain procedures, deadlines, and administrative steps.
